Metamorphosis

“Such an imagination,”
she sputters in a
puckered-up,

lemon-mouthed,
Brillo pad kinda way,
as if creativity

and a penchant
for fantasy were
the road to

disappointment,
a land of shriveled
fairy feet, treading

on shards of glass,
trapped in swampy
muck-filled dungeons.

I shivered,
I cried,
I repressed,

I died.
But I’ve been born again.
And this time, I have wings …

    THAT says so much! I dont even know where to begin. Just that i am thrilled to have you in FWF, and it makes me so happy that it has sparked muses and helped to create such excellent works as THIS!
